Classic car Insurance questions?
I have a ‘65 corvair 4 door hardtop. 110 hp with no seatbelts. My grandfather never thought they were important so did not order them, when he bought it new in ‘65. Well, i have the car now and got a quote from grundy worldwide and surprisingly it was cheap and i can drive the car any number of miles i want. i’m 16 and can’t afford my insurance for my other car. So should i wait for the winter is over and then drive the corvair through the spring , summer and fall?
Then when winter comes around put insurance on my other car?
the thing with classic or antique auto insurance is..they only cover you if your going to, at or coming from a auto show….and anyway why would you just want to drive it like everyday driving…you want to keep it with low miles and clean im sure that’s how gramps kept it
If that’s what you want to do. Just put storage insurance on the car you are not driving at the time, only costs like $40 a year.
Hi Abby,
I would suggest insuring your other car as well. Do you really want to drive around in a car that doesn’t have seat belts? Where do you live? Isn’t it illegal in most states now? I have a bunch of friends who have gotten tickets for now wearing seat belts (I think they are only like $25 but that adds up if it’s impossible for you to wear one).
Check out the source I listed below. You say you can’t afford the insurance on your other car but my bet is that if you can afford the insurance on the ‘65 you can afford the insurance on your other car through this company. They have great rates. The average rate is $149 for a 6 month policy (just liability – but you can drive with liability ). I would give them a call. I bet they can help.
Good luck!
car-insurance.22web.net – try this one. I personally have their car insurance, cause it is the cheapest for my family in our area.
As I know it provides such a service for classic car insurance.
